I highly recommend Martinez & Shanken based upon my extensive experience using their accounting services for my two businesses. Earl is great to work with and very responsive to inquiries. He typically picks up the phone or gets right back to me which is a wonderful customer service attribute. In addition, he is knowledgeable in his field and very patient with me when reviewing tax returns and our financial records. I was once in a time crunch for some important numbers and Earl adjusted his schedule at the last minute and worked well past their closing time to help me. This level of customer service rarely exists anymore! Two thumbs up and five stars for Earl Shanken and team!

Unfortunately I have to change my review because of the Owner of the company. Tim Carder has been excellent to work with. He has been straight forward and has done a great job preparing us for tax season. Unfortunately we had very bad luck with their bookkeepers there and we had switched back to our previous bookkeeper due to communication issues and unprofessional behavior of the bookkeeper(s). We of course kept with Tim in the meantime because of his excellent service. The Martinez part of the business made sure we suffered every since we switched to our previous bookkeeper that we have worked with for many years. After recently refusing to work with their bookkeepers Mrs Martinez sent a "anti" demand saying if we only wanted to work with Tim and not there other unprofessional bookkeepers then she would not allow me to use Tim anymore. All I have to say is WOW! Sometimes ego gets the best of us. I wish Tim all the best and can't help but hope he leaves.
