Horrible Services, Unprofessional, and Rude- No Different from your neighborhood tax firm! I initially tried this firm because somehow they got my email and continuously spammed me with emails about Tax Loopholes, and Tax Credits so I felt like these guys could be trusted and as a small business owner I felt like they could give me guidance on taxes. Unfortunately that was not the case. For my 2021 Tax Return all they did was send me a link to send documents. More than 3 people was involved with my return and one was not to knowledgeable on taxes. When they finish all they said was I owed 10K and sent me an invoice.I tried calling numerous times to discuss why I owed so much and see what could be done but no one answers or when I get someone they keep forwarding me. I would rather speak to Mike. I had to leave my business to go onsite just to see if I could speak with someone. This is a review of Burkhart Peterson and the Houston firm Manoloff (purchased by Burkhart Peterson in December 2022) for certain financial statement review and tax services I commissioned them to perform. In my opinion, both Burkhart Peterson and Manoloff are unethical and have effectively stolen money from me through their use of dirty, fictitious, and threatening tactics that goes against the terms of our executed engagement letter! Very poor and unprofessional behavior from a "white collar" CPA office; I would recommend avoid doing business with these guys at all costs. But here’s a summary of what happened; decide for yourself if you would want to do business with these guys. I entered into an engagement with the Manoloff firm for review of my quarterly financials and Manoloff deducted funds from my account in Dec 2022, in advance of the Q4 2022 review. Mike Manoloff has been my accountant since 2010 when I started my business. As an independent contractor, I've never had to worry about my taxes because he and his courteous staff have taken care of all of my business accounting to the point where I have avoided serious trouble with the IRS by allowing his office to handle my income taxes. Whenever I need help or have questions, I call the office and I am immediately helped by Lorena Hernandez. If she doesn't have the answer for me right then, she ALWAYS responds to me withing 24 hours. And she patiently handles every one of my requests. One thing I really like too is that Mike and his staff will answer questions by e-mail and NEVER charge for that kind of professional advice. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for peace of mind regarding income taxes, especially if you're an independent contractor like me.
