Yikes. With my combined time in military upbringing, work in customer service, and military service, I don't think I've ever had a more uncivil experience in my life. I had an awkward tax situation with my wife and I living in separate states for the last year and the tax return was proving a bit too complex for online tax sites so I sought a CPA to have a look and help me out. 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, I met with Nancy who refused to use PDFs of some of my forms because "she's not a secretary." She wanted me to bring all the paper forms which i explained was in possession of my wife in another state. At this point, the appointment was probably over because she decided to use the rest of my time there to call over an assistant she deemed responsible for me not bringing paper forms and interrogated them, which they denied and assured they told me. Nancy just plain knows her stuff. I had a pretty fringe situation (ponzi scheme theft loss), and she was not only familiar with that provision in the new tax code but even knew about the history of why those tax laws were passed in the first place. And we were done in like 15 minutes - so fast my head was spinning afterwards.
